    Description: Five (5) original circa 1920? photos with the following captions in white as part of the photos: “The V-2 coming up”, “Submarine Torpedo Tubes”, “Submarine Engine Room”, “Control Panel Submarine Interior” and the last one shows subs being built. Each photo measures 3 ½” x 5 7/8” and is in excellent condition with no bends with bits of paper stuck to the back from an old album. USS S-2 (SS-106) was the prototype of the "Lake-type" S-class submarine of the United States Navy. Her keel was laid down on 30 July 1917 by the Lake Torpedo Boat Company in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was launched on 15 February 1919 sponsored by Mrs. Philip B. Brill, and commissioned on 25 May 1920, Lieutenant Commander William M. Quigley in command.
